The Indian insulator industry is also showing growth, with a CAGR of around 6.5% during 2021-2026, according to another report by Research and Markets. The development is attributed to the increasing demand for electricity and the need for high-quality insulators in the power transmission and distribution sector. The report also notes that the government’s focus on renewable energy and the increasing investments in the power sector are driving the growth of the insulator industry in India.
Asian Granito India Limited, Kajaria Ceramics Limited, and Somany Ceramics Limited dominate the Indian ceramics industry. These companies have a strong presence in domestic and international markets, focusing on innovation and product development. The insulator industry in India is dominated by companies such as BHEL, ABB Limited, and Adani Power, among others.
The Indian ceramics industry is divided into sub-segments: tiles, sanitaryware, and tableware. The tiles segment is the largest in revenue, with a market share of around 70%, according to a report by IBEF (India Brand Equity Foundation). The sanitaryware segment is the second-largest, with a market share of approximately 22%. Finally, the tableware segment, which includes crockery and dinnerware, has a market share of around 5%.
In the insulator industry, the high voltage insulators segment is the largest, with a market share of around 60%, according to the Research and Markets report. On the other hand, the medium-voltage and low-voltage market share is about 25% and 15%, respectively.
